A young South Asian woman, Samah, has fallen in love with a Moroccan man, Hussain. Convinced that her parents will not allow for an intercultural marriage, Samah devises a scheme to win her parents over with the help of an enterprising matchmaker but Samah doesn’t realize that her parents and brother are hiding secrets of their own…

This puppetry piece retells the story of poet Edgar Allan Poe and addresses the relationship between the artist and his creations, his immense sense of grief and guilt, and the spiraling mental condition he faced at the end of his life. This zero-waste production, featuring shadow work and life-size puppets, was premiered at Concordia University in November 2019.
