MASHA BASHMAKOVA
Masha (she/they) is a performer, director, and theatre creator with a background in devised and physical theatre. She thrives in chaos, curiosity, and movement. Amongst trees, playfulness, and loved ones. Between two main activities: wondering and wandering.
Born in Russia, raised in the United Arab Emirates, and currently based in Tio'tia:ke (Montreal), Masha is deeply moved by the million ways in which language, place, and worldview impact how we tell stories. Having graduated Concordia’s Performance Creation program in 2020, Masha has since been working as an actor in film and theatre, building her practice as an emerging director, developing projects through creation residencies, and continuing her training abroad with ArtHaus Berlin and the Grotowski Institute in Poland.
